Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the service environment safe and well-presented. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, perform a range of maintenance tasks, and liaise with contractors to support upkeep.

The role includes on-site duties at a specialist care home, with training provided to get you started and opportunities for career development within a large national network.

as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors. Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service. You'll receive all necessary training to get you started and join the dedicated team, where you can make a positive difference and be part of changing lives for the better. • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
• Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
• Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Assisting in all decorating.
• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks., You will be working at a specialist care home with nursing in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Jubilee House is a registered care service which embraces and balances the management of risk with comfort, homeliness, dignity, respect and choice.

The mixed gender service is for people living with Learning Disabilities, Autism, sensory and communication impairments. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with complex needs and behaviours which may challenge services. The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team made up of registered manager, nurses and support workers. The service is intended for those individuals who require a high level of support to live within a community setting and will continue to require this longer term. Service users may be referred who are transitioning from hospital or children's services, or where their community placement is no longer able to meet their needs.
