Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Lakefield’s Neurological Centre in Chigwell. You will help keep the service, buildings and equipment maintained and safe, while working with an established team to support contracted maintenance tasks and gardening activities.

You will receive training and be part of a dedicated team, with opportunities to grow through a wide range of courses offered by the employer. A DBS disclosure is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure service, buildings, facilities and equipment are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilise DIY skills to maintain safety of service users.
• Conduct regular checks and maintenance and assist in repairs.
• Liaise with managers and contractors to support upkeep.
• Participate in a 1 week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
• Complete paperwork and tool checks on site.

as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well- presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, gardening and will regularly conduct audits to identify and repair any faults ensuring a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to all maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.

As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.

Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.

Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.

Assistingin the repair and maintenance of all buildings.

Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.

Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.

Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

To be successful in this role, you will:

Lakefield’s Neurological Centre, Lambourne Road, Chigwell, IG7 6HH

Lakefields Neurological Centre will be a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.

Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
