Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service in Barnham, England, is seeking a Senior Waking Night Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner to join a three-bedded residential home for children aged 7–17. You will lead night shifts, safeguard practice, and deliver trauma-informed care.

  • Ensure the home remains safe, secure, and compliant overnight, responding effectively to incidents, emergencies, and safeguarding concerns.

About the Role

We are seeking a confident and experienced Senior Waking Night Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner to join our therapeutic team within a three-bedded residential children’s home, supporting children and young people aged 7–17.

As shift lead, you will take responsibility for the running of the home during your shift, ensuring that high standards of care, safeguarding, and practice are consistently maintained. You will provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, model trauma-informed and child-centered practice, and contribute to a positive, stable, and nurturing home environment.

The role involves delivering high-quality, therapeutic care that supports children’s emotional wellbeing, promotes positive behaviour, and enables them to make progress in line with their individual care plans. You will work closely with managers and external professionals, contribute to risk management and care planning, and support staff development through reflective practice and supervision.
