Job summary

Skills 4 Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to support daily pharmacy operations and assist with prescriptions under supervision. You will undertake a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship with full training provided.

You will help customers at the counter, manage stock and use pharmacy systems, while maintaining safety and confidentiality. Training runs alongside your role over about 15 months.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English are desirable, as part of the course.
• No Pharamcy experience required; full training provided.
• Apprenticeship duration around 15 months.
• Training delivered alongside the job via blended learning.
• Commitment to contracted hours and learning hours.

About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.

You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided.

Supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries

Assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision)

Handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records

Using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality

Working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 or equivalent, in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.

For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Future Prospects
