Job summary

Amey is seeking a Reactive Facilities Team Leader to oversee day-to-day reactive maintenance across the HMP Long Lartin estate, ensuring safety, efficiency and contract KPIs are met. You will lead a team of maintenance operatives and engineers, prioritising workloads and delivering excellent service.

The role is site-based, with weekend work on a rota and a 15% basic salary allowance where applicable. IOSH Managing Safely is preferred, with development opportunities across Amey’s facilities

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance teams in facilities management or building services.
• Experience managing reactive maintenance operations and coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience using CAFM systems.
• Knowledge of building fabric and M&E maintenance activities.
• Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating a team of facilities operatives and engineers delivering reactive maintenance works.
• Managing and prioritising maintenance requests to meet SLAs and KPIs.
• Allocating work activities, monitoring progress and ensuring quality.
• Responding to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues with minimal disruption.
• Regular inspections to ensure health and safety compliance and standards.
• Supporting the Facilities Manager in planning resources and workloads.
• Ensuring maintenance records are kept within CAFM systems.
• Identifying recurring issues and improving reliability to reduce reactive maintenance.
• Leading the team to deliver high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
• Promoting safe systems of work and health and safety culture on site.
• Liaising with HMPPS stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
• Checking and approving timesheets per company procedures.
• Supporting wider facilities management activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
