Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist REACT Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist (Band 6) to deliver rapid, high-quality assessment and intervention in Accident and Emergency, supporting safe discharge and preventing avoidable admissions. The post is full-time (37.5 hours) across a 7-day service, with supervision of junior staff and MDT collaboration.

The role offers NHS AfC Band 6 terms, permanent status, and a salary of £39,959–£48,117 per year.

Qualifications

Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
Experience in a NHS acute setting and specialist clinical area is desirable.
Evidence of CPD portfolio and professional affiliations (BAOT).

Responsibilities

Undertake autonomous specialist caseload in A&E with Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy focus.
Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for complex cases.
Supervise and mentor junior staff and students; contribute to service development.
Ensure safe discharge planning and collaboration with MDT.
