Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the REACT Team. The role focuses on rapid, high-quality assessment and interventions to support safe discharge and prevent avoidable admissions.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, manage a caseload, provide guidance to junior staff and contribute to service development and governance.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with registration
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute setting
• Experience in assessment, discharge planning and equipment prescription preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist therapy caseload, delivering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation
• Develop and deliver person-centred treatment plans to promote independence and safe discharge
• Assess, prescribe and arrange equipment as part of patient care
• Provide clinical leadership by supervising and supporting junior staff and students
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical governance
• Maintain accurate records and ensure care aligns with standards
• Communicate with patients and carers, supporting rehabilitation and decision-making
• Participate in a flexible 7-day service to ensure high-quality care across the service
