Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced RE Teacher for a secondary school in St Albans. You will plan and deliver Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, developing pupils’ knowledge of beliefs and ethics and preparing them for GCSE assessments.

You will foster thoughtful discussion, help pupils analyse and support arguments with evidence, adapt to diverse learning needs, and collaborate with colleagues to close gaps in understanding while upholding safeguarding standards.

Pay: £180-£250 per day, depending on experience

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced RE Teacher for a secondary school in St Albans.

This role suits a Religious Education specialist who can lead thoughtful discussion, strengthen pupils' written arguments and make complex religious and ethical questions accessible. You'll encourage pupils to explore different perspectives while maintaining a respectful, focused classroom.

What we're looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching RE or Religious Studies at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with GCSE requirements.
• Confidence managing discussion around sensitive subjects.
• Clear classroom expectations and a commitment to inclusive teaching.
• Willingness to support the school's ethos and values.
