Job summary

Greencore Group plc in Bo'ness, Scotland, is seeking a Raw Materials Technologist to ensure customer, business and legal requirements for raw materials and supplier quality assurance are met. You will establish, monitor and maintain quality, safety and risk evaluation systems, implementing corrective actions on time.

The role involves defining material specs, auditing suppliers, supporting NPD, and driving improvements across QA and GMP/HACCP standards while promoting a strong health and safety

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of food safety, supplier assurance, and raw material risk management.
• Experience with quality management systems, specifications, and risk assessments.
• Ability to challenge supplier data to ensure compliance and robustness.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Technical, Operations, NPD, and suppliers.
• Audit capability with understanding of GMP and HACCP.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
• Proactive mindset to anticipate and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure approved specifications and risk assessments for all raw materials.
• Challenge and verify supplier information for compliance.
• Maintain raw material systems, databases, and launch-ready docs.
• Support NPD activity by identifying material risks early.
• Ensure supplier audits and certifications are completed.
• Audit compliance with QMS, GMP, HACCP; drive corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs, identify trends, and drive improvements.
• Communicate requirements clearly to suppliers and site teams.
• Support food safety incidents with timely technical information.
• Promote safe working practices and health and safety culture.
