Job summary

Silven Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Raw Materials Technologist in Yorkshire to own incoming supply on a busy production site. This hands-on role is also a people role, acting as the key link between suppliers, planning and procurement.

You will build strong supplier relationships, manage stock and feedback to keep materials within spec and available, enabling smooth site operations and sustained quality across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in raw materials, stock, or supply within food manufacturing (meat a plus).
• A genuine people-first approach — with suppliers and colleagues alike.
• Strong organisation and a calm head when problems land.
• Good commercial awareness around cost, quality, and availability.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with suppliers to ensure raw materials consistently arrive within spec
• Manage rejections and refunds quickly and fairly when product falls short — for example, foreign body issues like blue plastic
• Build strong, lasting supplier relationships so they value dealing with the site
• Stay organised and responsive, so issues are flagged and resolved fast
• Keep the planning and procurement teams informed so the whole site runs smoothly
