Job summary

Deverellsmith is seeking an experienced Painter/Decorator for a short-term project in Sheffield to prepare student accommodation ahead of the new academic year.

You will work across multiple rooms and communal areas, delivering high-quality finishes on a fast turnaround. The role requires full-time hours, own tools and PPE, and eligibility to work in the UK. Immediate start through August/September 2026.

Qualifications

• Proven painter/decorator experience.
• Ability to work quickly to meet tight schedules.
• Own tools and PPE provided by you.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls, ceilings, woodwork and fixtures for painting (filling, sanding, masking).
• Apply paint and finishes to a high standard across rooms and communal areas.
• Work efficiently to meet a tight turnaround before move-in dates.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work site with minimal disruption in occupied buildings.
• Report any additional maintenance issues spotted on site.
• Follow health and safety requirements at all times.
