Job summary

Menzies Aviation in Edinburgh is seeking a Ramp Supervisor to oversee the loading and unloading of luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. The role includes operating small specialized vehicles, heavy lifting, and ensuring safety standards across the ramp team.

You will supervise agents, train staff, and support shift operations, with responsibilities spanning interviews, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed.

Qualifications

• Ramp/airline experience required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively.
• Must be available for variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must have read and signed the Safety and Security procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed.
• Move cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, terminals, and facilities.
• Ensure ramp personnel adhere to safety regulations.
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Interview, hire, train, and evaluate staff as needed under policy.
• Complete shift reports and sign timecards.
• Assist in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as required.
• Assist in baggage handling area.
• Conduct shift briefings to keep staff organized.
