Wabtec is seeking a skilled Production Planner in Burton on Trent to manage and optimise schedules for engines, transmissions and Power Packs for rail clients. The role coordinates with multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality output.

You will develop production plans, ensure materials and workforce readiness, monitor progress and adjust schedules to counter bottlenecks, while reporting to the Planning Lead and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsabilités

• Develop, manage and optimise production schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
• Ensure materials, equipment and workforce availability to support production activities.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays or changing priorities.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to support the Planning Lead.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with production, warehouse and sales teams.
• Analyse production data and trends to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual production and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational processes.
• Support new bids and industrialisation activities as required.
