Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an experienced Production Planner for our LH Group division based in Burton on Trent. You will develop and manage production schedules for engines, transmissions and power packs, coordinating across departments to optimise workflow and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires strong knowledge of production processes, supply chain management, ERP/MRP systems, and the ability to adapt under pressure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and optimise production schedules to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments.
• Ensure materials, equipment and workforce availability to support production activities.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address delays, bottlenecks or changing priorities.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to support the Planning Lead.
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Communicate effectively with production, warehouse and sales teams.
• Analyse production data and trends to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual production and implement corrective actions.
• Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise operational processes.
• Support new bids and industrialisation activities as required.
• Maintain effective coordination across departments to ensure smooth operational performance.

We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Role: Production Planner

Salary: £Competitive

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN) – (Onsite)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?
