Job summary

Arriva operates maintenance duties at a UK depot, carrying out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to established standards. You will interface with IT systems, identify and mitigate health and safety risks, and support team leader duties to help meet rolling stock availability targets.

The role requires problem solving, clear communication, and the ability to work independently within defined procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering - Rail Traction & Rolling Stock preferred.
• BTEC certificate in Engineering and/or City & Guilds certificate in Engineering.
• Good standard of education and relevant rail maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures.
• Interface with IT software and platforms where required.
• Identify health and safety risks and rectify where possible.
• Carry out team leader duties or assist as directed to ensure rolling stock availability.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas and complete documentation/IT records.
• Attend safety, quality and briefings and follow up on actions.
