Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited is seeking a Technical Training Lead to shape and deliver world‑class technical training for UK rail operations. You’ll design and implement a centralised training framework, build a robust library, and create engaging e‑learning and blended programmes for multiple fleets.

You will lead workforce capability initiatives, perform skills gap analyses and help shape competency frameworks to drive performance, safety and continuous improvement in a regulated rail

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Level 4 teaching/training qualification (e.g. CTLLS) or Level 3 with significant proven experience.
• Experience designing and delivering technical training programmes.
• Strong instructional design capability and experience using digital authoring tools.
• Proven experience delivering training within rail or other highly regulated sector.
• Knowledge of rolling stock systems: traction, braking, signalling, train control.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Knowledge of competency-based training and assessment frameworks.
• Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design a centralised technical training framework across UK operations.
• Develop engaging training programmes covering traction, braking, control and signalling systems.
• Build and maintain a technical training library and e-learning content.
• Collaborate with engineering experts and partners to create high-quality content.
• Lead workforce capability activities including skills gap analyses and career pathways.
• Monitor training effectiveness and update content to industry standards.
