Job summary

Stadler Rail Service UK Limited (SRS UK) is recruiting a System Technician to join the Production team in Cardiff. You will fault-find on the 231 and 756 fleets, provide technical support, and ensure quality checks meet contractual service levels.

You will mentor teammates, prepare reports in the Maintenance Management System, and collaborate with RAMS/Performance Engineers to drive improvements while strictly following health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship (Electrical/Electronic bias) with NVQ Level 5 or equivalent.
• Extensive engineering experience in rolling stock maintenance.
• Experience managing small teams and coordinating production activities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake fault finding and identify the required repair.
• Provide support across the business for condition monitoring systems.
• Perform secondary checks of colleagues' work (four-eyes principle).
• Answer technical questions from colleagues and clients.
• Provide technical feedback to RAMS/Performance Engineer and depot teams.
• Identify risks, assess them, and propose mitigations in line with legislation.
• Review faults and actions from depot production teams for RAMS reviews.
• Mentor and support other production team members.
• Produce high-quality reports on defects and maintenance tasks.
• Inform and persuade managers to adopt improved systems and ways of working.
• Observe health and safety practices and maintain tidy workplace.
• Determine task order in consultation with Shift Production Manager.
• Identify personal development needs, technical and non-technical.
• Provide technical coaching and quality assurance across the business.
