Job summary

Stadler Rail AG's SRSUK is seeking a proactive engineer to lead the transition of new fleet introductions from manufacturer to operator in the UK. You will act as the technical interface among Stadler, operators, and suppliers, driving reliability growth through data analysis and engineering solutions.

The role requires independent decision-making, structured investigations, and management of multiple stakeholders to meet contractual KPIs and ensure continuous fleet performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Qualification or equivalent experience in a Rail, Depot and Engineering environment.
• Formal education to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• Electrical, network/ software and mechanical qualifications with suitable experience.
• Strong knowledge of rolling stock systems and modern EMU platforms.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Excel and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the set-up and ongoing development of Power BI dashboards for fleet reliability trends.
• Mentor new starters with initial, on the job or enhanced training including assessments.
• Act as the SRSUK technical liaison between Stadler, Nexus engineering teams and suppliers/OEMs.
• Lead 8D investigations into significant failures and root cause analysis.
• Analyze fleet performance against KPIs and implement continuous improvements.
• Ensure documentation and safety/quality standards are met across fleets.
