Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Rail Systems M&E Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team. You will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle on complex rail infrastructure projects, delivering innovative and safer solutions.

You will coordinate signalling, power, communications and M&E disciplines, ensuring compliance with Network Rail standards and UK regulations while collaborating with clients, contractors and regulators to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience delivering complex Rail Systems and M&E projects.
• Strong knowledge of systems integration and multidisciplinary delivery.
• Familiarity with Network Rail standards and UK regulations.
• Experience managing technical interfaces across signalling, power and M&E.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Professional membership or registration in a relevant institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assurance and review Rail Systems & M&E designs for compliance.
• Lead engineering and technical delivery of complex rail projects from concept to commissioning.
• Challenge proposals to deliver safe, efficient solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across signalling, power, communications, M&E and systems integration.
• Manage technical interfaces and ensure effective integration across work packages.
• Support reviews, approvals and assurance processes to achieve outcomes.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers and regulators to develop practical solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement and technical excellence in rail delivery.
