Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Rail Systems M&E Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team in the UK. You will lead technical delivery, provide design assurance, and work with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, sustainable rail solutions through the full project lifecycle.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering, proven experience in rail systems and strong integration across signalling, power and communications.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering complex Rail Systems and M&E projects in rail infrastructure.
• Familiarity with UK railway standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assurance and review Rail Systems M&E designs for compliance.
• Lead engineering delivery of complex rail systems projects from concept to commissioning.
• Coordinate design activities across signalling, power, communications, M&E and systems integration.
• Manage technical interfaces and ensure effective integration across work packages.
• Support reviews, approvals and assurance processes to achieve project outcomes.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies to develop practical solutions.
