Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Senior Rail/Bridge Engineer to join its Rail team, delivering civil engineering designs for rail infrastructure across the UK. You will guide projects from feasibility to detailed design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant solutions.

You'll mentor junior engineers, contribute to continuous improvement, and work toward Incorporated or Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in civil engineering or related discipline.
• Working towards or holding Incorporated or Chartered status (ICE or equivalent).
• Experience delivering civil engineering design within the rail sector.
• Strong understanding of rail standards, design processes and project delivery.
• Experience producing technical reports, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with digital engineering tools and modern design environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach with a commitment to professional development.

I'm working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that's looking to appoint a Senior Rail/Bridge Engineer to join its growing Rail team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure projects across the South West and Wales, supporting the delivery of technically challenging schemes within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You'll play a key role in developing and delivering civil engineering designs throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, safe and sustainable solutions for clients across the rail sector.

The Role
