Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our client’s team in delivering complex infrastructure projects across rail and energy sectors. The role involves leading civil and structural design from concept to construction, with emphasis on rail ancillary structures and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Ideal candidates will hold a Civil or Structural Engineering degree, have proven design experience, and be familiar with UK standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering civil and/or structural engineering designs.
• Experience within rail infrastructure, civil engineering, or structural building design environments.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis, design principles, and relevant UK design standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering projects from concept through to construction.
• Undertake the design of rail ancillary structures and associated civil engineering assets.
• Prepare and review calculations, technical reports, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Carry out structural analysis and design in accordance with relevant industry standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Attend design reviews and contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support project planning, programme management, and resource allocation activities.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience using industry-standard structural design software.
