Job summary

Network Rail's Structures Route Asset Management team in the East Midlands is responsible for the safe management of bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and culverts. The role is based at the Derby Control Centre and collaborates with maintenance, renewals, operations and project delivery to keep assets safe and available for passengers and freight operators.

The successful candidate will apply asset management processes, schedule examinations, assess reports, and prioritise actions to deliver

Qualifications

• Incorporated Engineer status or working towards professional registration.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering policies and standards.
• Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
• Holds a valid UK driving licence, or eligible and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support asset management processes to achieve financial and output targets.
• Schedule examinations, inspections, monitoring and assessment of assets.
• Specify and prioritise actions to address defects and integrate into work plans.
• Undertake engineering analysis and risk assessments to support schemes and business cases.
• Monitor asset condition and failure precursors to inform renewal plans.

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical engineering
