Job summary

Crouch Waterfall, part of the Vulcain Engineering Group, is seeking a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer to lead rail and infrastructure package delivery across the UK. You will act as technical lead for design activities, ensure compliance with codes and client requirements, and manage design teams across bridges, steelwork and concrete assets.

The role offers significant client exposure, multidisciplinary collaboration, and clear progression within a growing international organisation.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or progress toward Chartership.
• Experience delivering rail and infrastructure projects.
• Experience leading engineering teams and multi-disciplinary delivery.
• Technical lead or CRE-D role experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of structural packages across rail projects.
• Act as technical lead for design activities ensuring standards compliance.
• Develop and check designs for bridges, steel, and reinforced concrete.
• Manage scope, programme, resources, and technical risks.
• Oversee structural assessments and engineering analyses.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and review technical work.
• Contribute to bids, fee proposals and rail capability growth.
