Job summary

Hitachi Rail GTS UK Limited is seeking a Sales & Business Development Director for Signalling & Rail Solutions in the UK. You will lead a small team, drive profitable order intake, and build a robust pipeline across regional transport markets.

Travel across the UK and to industry events is expected at 40-60% of your time. You will report to the UK Sales Director and develop strategies for major customers while leading complex bids to contract awards.

Qualifications

• Extensive sales, business development or commercial leadership experience.
• Proven record of winning major public sector and B2B contracts in transport, infrastructure, rail, or related sectors.
• Significant experience leading complex bid and capture management activities.
• Strong track record of delivering order intake growth and building pipelines.
• Established relationships across transportation and infrastructure markets.

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable order intake growth across a designated regional account portfolio.
• Develop, qualify and maintain a robust pipeline of future opportunities.
• Lead complex capture management activities and shape winning strategies before procurement begins.
• Develop and execute account and growth strategies for major customers and stakeholders.
• Lead and support high-value, complex bids through to contract award.
• Build and strengthen relationships with government bodies, transport authorities, and industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate with strategy, product, engineering and delivery teams to develop customer solutions.
• Represent Hitachi Rail at industry events and forums.
• Maintain forecasting and reporting through Salesforce and governance processes.
• Provide leadership to a team of two direct reports.
