Job summary

Carmichael UK seeks an experienced Site Agent to oversee Access for All schemes across the North West rail network. You will manage lift shaft construction, platform modifications and related civils works within live railway environments.

The role requires PTS and a strong background in reinforced concrete and lift shaft construction, with experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects. This is a freelance Inside IR35 position with a competitive day rate and potential for

Qualifications

• PTS certification is required for this role.
• Experience delivering Access for All, station enhancements or rail civils projects.
• Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and procedures.
• Experience managing subcontractors, temporary works and site delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage the safe and efficient delivery of Access for All projects from inception through to handover.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors and suppliers on rail infrastructure projects.
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with Network Rail standards and project specifications.
• Oversee lift shaft construction, reinforced concrete works, structural installations and station modifications.
• Manage project programmes, budgets and resource allocation.
• Produce RAMS, work package plans and construction documentation.
• Coordinate possession planning, access requirements and stakeholder interfaces.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to clients and senior management.
• Ensure QA procedures, inspections and handovers are completed.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical challenges.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental standards throughout project delivery.
• Build relationships with Network Rail, clients, designers and stakeholders.
