Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Quality Manager in Projects for its Rail Infrastructure team. The role supports the Project Delivery team, driving quality improvement, project excellence and innovation across Chippenham, Coventry or York locations.

You will lead QM system implementation, monitor supplier quality, and coordinate continuous improvement actions to deliver milestone results and reduce non-conformance costs.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Lead Auditor qualification e.g. ISO9001 (preferred).
• Experience in a Quality Manager role within project and/or manufacturing in a relevant industry.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/45001/14001/27001 and practical application within a large organisation.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred) or significant experience delivering Lean/CI outcomes.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, data analysis, AI tools and digital workflow tools.
• CQI Membership or Accreditation (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the QM system within the portfolio and support project management in planning and securing milestone results, reduce NCCs.
• Design, implement and monitor quality plans and define appropriate quality targets and performance indicators based on project critical factors.
• Manage quality incidents (QCCs) and root-cause-analysis raised within the project including KPIs and Cost of Poor Quality.
• Monitor and communicate at Executive level the outcomes of supplier quality status, risks, incidents, and KPIs.
• Support the planning, initiation and coordination of continuous improvement actions for all project phases. Ensure good practice sharing and feedback of experience e.g. through workshops and lessons learned.
• Plan and ensure the required quality level of the project-specific supply chain with the focus on specifications and interface definitions.
