Job summary

DG8 Design & Engineering in Derby, UK, is seeking a proactive Project Manager to deliver engineering and technical projects from concept through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and value for customers. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage risks and budgets, and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers while supporting business development across the rail sector.

The role is office-based in Derby with the opportunity to influence rolling stock projects

Qualifications

• Experience delivering engineering or technical projects from initiation through to completion.
• Understanding of project planning, resource management, risk management and commercial delivery.
• Knowledge of the UK rail industry, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Engineering, technical or project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to lead project teams and engage with customers.
• Experience delivering rolling stock or rail vehicle projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of assigned projects to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
• Take responsibility for technical and commercial delivery within timescales and budgets.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting through SAP.
• Coordinate resources and project activities to support successful execution.
• Ensure outputs comply with legislation, standards, safety and procedures.
• Prepare and deliver project documentation, reports and presentations.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, issues and changes throughout the lifecycle.
• Support business development by promoting DG8’s services.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
