Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters in Doncaster to join a major rail contract. The role offers a starting salary of £36,982, rising to £39,677 after competency sign-off, with overtime and full product training provided.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained in a mechanical discipline with Level 3 qualification.
• Rail experience is not essential; full product training and competency development will be provided.
• Experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, maintenance or overhaul in related environments.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Overhauling and rebuilding rail wheelsets and components.
• Mechanical assembly to engineering drawings.
• Inspection, measurement and quality checks.
• Basic wiring and testing activities (training provided).
• Recording work and maintaining quality documentation.
• Working within a skilled engineering team to achieve targets.
