Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group Ltd in Leeds is recruiting a Level 3 qualified Mechanical Fitter to work on heavy diesel locomotives in the rail industry. You will join a skilled team responsible for maintenance, repair and overhaul of locomotives, using VMI instructions and engineering drawings.

The role offers a competitive salary of £47,147 per year, with progression options including additional earnings from train driving and up to six training modules worth £1,500 each per year.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance and fault-finding experience in transport or plant engineering.
• Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to pass medical, drug and alcohol screening, and DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul on locomotives.
• Diagnose, investigate, and repair faults in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
• Use maintenance instructions (VMI) and drawings to complete examinations, inspections, and routine servicing.
