Job summary

West Midlands Metro is seeking a Technical Documentation Author to support the successful integration of new network extensions into operational service. You will create, manage and coordinate critical technical documentation that enables the safe and effective handover of infrastructure into day-to-day operations.

This role spans across engineering, project delivery, operations, asset management and safety teams, contributing to documentation standards and information governance to ensure

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a Technical Author, Document Controller, Engineering Support or Information Management role.
• Experience producing technical documentation, procedures and manuals.
• Strong document control, version control and information governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review, edit and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
• Coordinate document reviews, approvals and distribution processes.
• Manage document control and version control in SharePoint and management systems.
• Support infrastructure handover, commissioning and operational readiness activities.
