Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talentwise is assisting a client in Bristol to recruit a Heavy Maintenance Team Leader for a busy rolling stock operation. The role combines leadership with hands-on engineering, with about 60% time on planning, coordination, customer liaison and team management, and 40% on technical maintenance activities on the shop floor.

A strong background in engineering leadership and safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in an engineering or maintenance environment.
• Strong planning and workload management abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Clear understanding of Health & Safety in safety-critical settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians performing heavy maintenance.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage materials, tooling and labour to meet demands.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity and maintenance performance.
• Ensure activities comply with Health & Safety and quality standards.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders on progress and priorities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel.
