Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Field Service Technician to support a rail contract across the South East of England. This field-based role follows a 4-on/4-off shift pattern with no on-call requirement, and includes in-house training while servicing and installing rail technology systems.

You will travel within the defined service area, perform routine maintenance and fault diagnosis on rail assets, complete safety checks, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Based within the defined service area: London, Crawley, Farnham, or the South coast.
• Proven technical or field service background in technology, telecoms, or similar maintenance environments.
• Eligible to pass a Sentinel check for rail contract access.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable working a rotating shift pattern with no fixed weekly routine.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and fault diagnosis on rail-related technical assets across the network.
• Travel across the defined service area to attend to faults and scheduled maintenance work.
• Complete relevant rail industry safety and access checks as required.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out and assets serviced.
• Work a structured 4 on/4 off shift pattern.
