Job summary
Hitachi Rail in Newton Aycliffe invites applications from a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to support design, development and validation of electrical systems for railway vehicles. You will work with senior engineers across disciplines, gaining experience in electrical design, systems engineering, testing and technical documentation.
Ideal candidates are recent graduates or have up to three years in electrical engineering, with knowledge of CAD tools and a willingness to travel.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate or up to 3 years in electrical/industrial engineering or related field.
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles and schematics.
- Experience with electrical CAD tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and update electrical schematics for railway vehicles.
- Produce electrical docs for manufacturing, wiring tables and harness drawings.
- Design electrical cabinets, boxes and wiring systems.
- Select and specify electrical/electromechanical components.
- Support testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Participate in design reviews with teams, suppliers and customers.
- Ensure designs meet standards and customer requirements.
