Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited is seeking an experienced Manufacturing & Design Integration Engineer at the Newton Aycliffe facility. The role interfaces between Design Engineering and Production to ensure designs translate accurately into the vehicles built.

You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Commissioning, Supply Chain and Project teams to resolve production challenges while maintaining design integrity.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within rolling stock, rail vehicle design or other complex mobile equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate into practical solutions.
• Knowledge of reliability, maintenance and failure analysis methods is a plus.
• Professional engineering registration or progress towards registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as the engineering link between Design Engineering and Production, ensuring designs translate to the built vehicles.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues with practical technical recommendations.
• Review drawings and designs to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Support design and build reviews to ensure alignment with the approved design.
• Produce clear technical reports to support engineering decisions and actions.
