Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Design Manager or CRE to lead design assurance and governance on Access for All station enhancement schemes across the UK rail network. You will coordinate design reviews, manage interfaces between civils, M&E and architectural disciplines, and drive a compliant, safe delivery from development to handback.

Based in the North West with flexible engagement options, the role requires a proven track record in rail projects, AP/Lifting operations knowledge, and

Qualifications

• Experience in rail infrastructure and station enhancements.
• Experience as Design Manager and/or CRE.
• Familiarity with Network Rail standards and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
• Coordinate interfaces between civils, M&E, architectural and rail disciplines.
• Review submissions, technical queries and engineering changes.
• Provide engineering leadership through delivery, testing, commissioning and handback.
