Job summary

RTS Infrastructure is seeking an experienced M&E professional to join the Leeds project delivery team as CRE M&E (Contractor's Responsible Engineer). You will lead mechanical and electrical construction activities, provide engineering assurance, and support commissioning across major rail projects.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering M&E works within rail infrastructure environments.
• Experience operating as CRE-C within project engineering management arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the nominated CRE for Mechanical and Electrical engineering construction activities.
• Provide engineering assurance across electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, containment, cabling, earthing and bonding.
• Support HVAC, ventilation, heating, plumbing, fire systems and associated building services.
• Ensure access to approved drawings, specifications, standards and technical information.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering leadership to delivery teams and subcontractors.
• Identify and manage engineering risks, constraints and interface issues.
• Review construction methodologies, sequencing plans and buildability considerations.
• Collaborate with Design CREs, client representatives and multidisciplinary project teams to resolve issues.
• Manage technical queries, engineering changes and construction-related issues.
• Support possession planning, isolation planning, testing, commissioning and handback.
• Review inspection and test plans, risk assessments, method statements and permit requirements.
• Ensure works delivered in line with approved designs, standards and specifications.
• Review commissioning documentation and handover information.
• Support investigation and resolution of non-conformances and technical issues.
• Contribute to project reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
