Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Area Manager to oversee a prestigious railway contract. The role combines strong management with a safety-centric approach in a fast-paced environment, overseeing performance, site rotas, recruitment and client reporting across multiple sites in the UK.

You will lead cleaning teams, ensure standards, manage budgets for worked hours and provide on-the-job training, while coordinating with clients and senior management to meet stringent deadlines and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Right to Work in the UK is required.
• Travel across multiple sites is required; travel costs will be covered by the business.
• Strong organisational and management capabilities within a safety-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Task Allocation and Standards Maintenance: delegate tasks to cleaning teams and report to the Fleet Presentation Manager; monitor work, rectify subpar standards, and keep documentation.
• Standardisation and Efficiency: review cleaning tasks and processes for efficiency; verify equipment safety and material usage.
• Operational Management: manage team workloads, ensure fair distribution and budget adherence for worked hours; provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure site rotas are in place, deploying resources to daily challenges; review specifications with client and senior management.
• Effective Communication and Feedback: liaise with teams to address feedback, monitor KPIs and timesheets within set timelines.
• Recruitment and Training: oversee recruitment for supervisory/entry-level roles; identify and fulfill training needs; manage stock and equipment orders.
• Contractual Responsibilities: conduct audits and training sessions; be available on a rotational on-call basis; lead day-to-day operational management of the regional contract.
• Client Interaction and Reporting: interface with clients, service providers and stakeholders for contractual reviews and evaluations for the regional area.
