Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join the West Yorkshire team. The role focuses on developing client relationships, monitoring costs, and ensuring contract compliance across projects.

Candidates should have a BSc in Quantity Surveying and 2–3 years’ contracting experience, with strong communication and a proactive, deadline-driven approach. Rail sector exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• BSc Quantity Surveying (or similar) required.
• 2–3 years' experience in a contracting environment.
• Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
• General knowledge of NEC forms of contract desirable.
• Experience with Civil Engineering in the Rail Sector desirable.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop client relationships by maintaining regular contact and meetings.
• Monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
• Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements.
• Supply commercial information and reports to Senior QS and Commercial Manager (CVR's, valuations, cash flow).
• Identify financial risks and evaluate mitigation options.
• Produce, submit and agree final accounts according to contract requirements.
• Liaise with Supply Chain for procurement and subcontract orders.
• Oversee certification of payments/variations and settle final accounts.
