Job summary

Network Rail seeks a motivated Civil Engineer to join our Capital Delivery Team as a Project Engineer [Civils], delivering key railway projects within the STEP organisation. You will manage multi-disciplinary engineering activities from design through to commissioning, with potential to act as Designated Project Engineer.

The role sits in Band 4C with a salary range £43,588–£53,167 depending on experience, and can be based in Birmingham or Manchester with hybrid working where possible.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in Civil engineering, including construction and design
• Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering
• Knowledge of quality assurance
• Understanding of independent assessment requirements
• CDM, risk assessment and engineering management competency

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineering and project activities are delivered safely on time and within budget
• Manage design and construction from specification through testing and commissioning
• Oversee contractors and consultants and ensure competence and standards are met
