Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Air Quality specialist to lead technically demanding projects within the Rail sector. You will design monitoring plans, perform dispersion modelling with ADMS, and prepare high-quality reports for a range of clients including local authorities and national bodies.

You will mentor junior staff, manage projects to time and budget, and help shape the strategic direction of the air quality team across the UK.

Qualifications

Significant experience in air quality consultancy or similar organisation.
Significant rail sector experience.
Degree in a scientific discipline; postgraduate environmental qualification preferred.
Strong numerical and technical skills with ADMS/ADMS-Roads proficiency.
Experience with ambient air quality monitoring.
Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, guidance and best practices.

Responsibilities

Lead technically challenging air quality projects in the Rail sector.
Design ambient air quality monitoring plans (passive and automatic).
Prepare technical reports and bid submissions.
Manage projects to budget, programme and scope.
Mentor junior team members and support team development.
Engage with clients, Local Authorities, and national bodies.
Contribute to strategic direction of the regional and national air quality teams.
