Job summary

The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Advanced Senior Pharmacy Support Worker in our Radiopharmacy team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and for supervising colleagues, ensuring work is accurate and compliant with procedures.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English grade 5-9 or equivalent.
• HNC in a science-based subject OR 2 A levels in a science subject OR BTEC Level 3 in a science subject OR equivalent knowledge and experience gained through work experience and training.
• Significant experience of pharmacy and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing a range of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.
• Supervising and supporting less experienced staff involved in radiopharmaceutical preparation.
• Performing in-process checks on the work undertaken by other team members.
• Undertaking quality control testing of finished radiopharmaceutical products.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance throughout all aspects of your work.
• Supporting the Senior Radiopharmacy team with the development and improvement of services.
• Contributing to the development of the service in line with NHS & commercial requirements including organisational objectives.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Radiopharmacy and healthcare teams.
• Ensuring accurate completion of documentation and records in accordance with relevant procedures and regulatory requirements.
