Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support operational leadership for Radiology services. You will drive performance against RTT, cancer and diagnostic targets, oversee staffing, and lead service improvement initiatives.

Working with clinical and operational teams, you will monitor performance data, manage waiting lists, and prepare reports for divisional and Trust boards.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths to C grade or higher, educated to degree level or equivalent in NHS environment.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in management training and NHS operations.
• Experience coordinating teams, prioritising workload and staff supervision.
• Experience managing complaints investigations and translating learnings into improvements.
• In-depth knowledge of cancer and 18-week RTT targets and their application.
• Knowledge of capacity and demand modelling and project planning techniques.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise, and deliver under pressure.
• Demonstrates patient-focused approach with commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support operational delivery and performance management of Radiology services.
• Drive service improvement and transformation to meet national targets (RTT, cancer, diagnostic).
• Monitor waits, capacity, demand; develop recovery plans and reports for forums.
• Provide leadership to admin, booking and support teams; manage recruitment and appraisal.
