Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager for Radiology to lead operational delivery and performance across imaging services. The role focuses on ensuring timely access to diagnostics, high quality patient care, and collaborative leadership with clinical teams and Division colleagues.

You will support the General Manager, drive improvements in patient pathways, monitor performance data, and help with recruitment, appraisal and staff

Qualifications

• Experience in NHS operational, administrative or service delivery roles.
• Experience supporting team coordination, workload prioritisation, rota cover or staff supervision.
• Experience managing or contributing to complaints investigations, preparing clear and timely responses, and ensuring learning is translated into service improvement actions.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant General Manager will support the operational delivery and performance management of Radiology services, ensuring patients progress through their diagnostic pathways safely and efficiently.
• Monitor performance, waiting lists, capacity and demand, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and lead service improvement and transformation initiatives.
• Provide leadership to administrative, booking and support teams, overseeing workforce management activities including recruitment, induction, appraisal, training, wellbeing and performance management.
• Support complaints and incident processes, preparing reports for operational forums, managing resources effectively, and working with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to improve patient experience, service quality and operational performance across Radiology.
