Nuffield Health Cardiff & Vale Hospitals is seeking a Radiology Administrator on a bank contract, part-time basis. You will join the radiology team across Cardiff Bay Clinic and Vale Hospital, supporting front-of-house services and the imaging department.

The role focuses on patient welcome, appointment scheduling, data handling, and coordination with radiographers, radiologists and clinicians. A customer-focused, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Healthcare administration or Radiology reception.
• NVQ level 2 in business administration desirable.
• Good IT and keyboard skills.
• Knowledge of clinical terminology desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, in person, and direct them to waiting areas.
• Provide empathy and customer service to patients, staff and clinicians.
• Put people at ease when visiting the department.
• Schedule radiology appointments and manage diaries while maintaining databases with data protection.
• Answer phones, process queries and handle enquiries.
• Prepare clinical paperwork, referral forms and charge sheets, plus terms and conditions to support the department.
• Support clinical staff as needed.
• Download/transfer images between hospitals.
• Distribute imaging reports to referring clinicians.

Radiology Administrator

Nuffield Health Cardiff & Vale Hospital | Diagnostic Imaging | Bank contract | Part time

£12.84 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Our Radiology Administration team in our Nuffield Cardiff Bay Clinic and Vale Hospital currently have an opportunity for a Radiology Administrator. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering all modalities including General Radiography, Mammography, Ultrasound, MRI & CT.

As a Radiology Administrator you will be an integral part of our Radiology team and Front of House that provides excellent patient care & will work closely with patients, Radiographers, Radiologists, Consultants & all departments across Cardiff Nuffield Hospitals. You will have enthusiasm, dedication, commitment and a keen eye for attention to detail to provide and deliver a high quality diagnostic imaging service whist undertaking a wide variety of duties.

The Role:

You will be the face of Nuffield Health Radiology and sensitive to our customer’s needs.

As a Radiology Administrator, you will:

• Welcome patients, in person, and directing them to the appropriate waiting rooms.
• Use your empathy and customer service skills to build positive relationships with patients, staff and Consultants.
• Put people at ease when they visit our department.
• Schedule radiology appointments, manage radiology diaries and maintain databases whilst adhering to data protection.
• Answering the phone, processing queries and dealing with enquiries.
• Crucially, you will also help the department run smoothly by preparing clinical paperwork, referral forms and charge sheets, plus terms and conditions.
• Support clinical staff.
• Downloading and transferring of images between hospitals.
• Distributing imaging reports to referring clinicians.

To succeed as a Radiology Administrator, you will have:

• Great communication, organisational & analytical skills.
• The ability to explain sensitive or complicated information in a clear, sympathetic and easily understood way.
• Ideally, you will have experience of working within Healthcare administration or Radiology reception.
• Good IT and keyboard skills (NVQ level 2 in business administration desirable).
• Knowledge of clinical terminology (desirable).

The department is currently open from 8 am to 8 pm and will require different shift work to cover the workload, annual leave and any sickness.
