Job description

Radiographer Positions at King’s Mill and Newark Hospitals

We are seeking enthusiastic radiographers to join our busy, friendly departments at both King’s Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital. We are committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and career growth. You will gain experience in various areas of radiography, including general radiography, CT rotation, accident and emergency work, and orthopaedic radiography. Participation in out-of-hours rota will be required after an induction period. We support newly qualified radiographers with mentors, in-house training, and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications and Eligibility
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Radiography degree or DCRR

Note: Not all roles are eligible for visa sponsorship. Please refer to the shortage occupation list for eligibility details. Be aware that recent changes in Home Office guidance (from 9th April) may affect sponsorship eligibility, especially for visa switching.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform high-standard x-ray examinations, adhering to Ionising Radiations Regulations 17, the Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017, and local rules.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and staff regarding radiological procedures.
  3. Comply with health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  4. Participate in quality assurance, standards setting, and ongoing skills development, maintaining a Personal Development Portfolio.
  5. Undertake audits and self-assessment of practice.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards per Trust policies.
  7. Participate in departmental rota for radiological examinations, including CT, Nuclear Medicine, theatre, and mobile work.
  8. Report equipment malfunctions and breakdowns according to departmental policy and IRR17.
  9. Assist in training student radiographers, following university guidance.
