Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • UK hospital radiography experience (NHS or private) minimum 1 year.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
  • Postgraduate imaging training (CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles).
  • Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
  • Adapt techniques for paediatrics, bariatrics and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service throughout examinations.
  • Monitor patients and respond to signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and faults reported.
  • Assist in adoption of new imaging technologies (PACS, RIS).
  • Coordinate care with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams.

Salary: Up to £21.38 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Werndale Hospital in Carmarthen is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in theImagingdepartment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.

Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.

Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.

Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.

Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.

Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.

Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).

Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.

HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 1 year UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.

Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
