Job summary

Circle Health Group’s The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is seeking a Radiographer for a bank role to cover busy periods and annual leave. You will perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures and support a patient-centred service.

HCPC registered Radiographer with a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and at least 1 year UK hospital experience is required; postgraduate imaging qualifications are desirable. The post offers flexible hours with pay up to £22 per hour.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography.
• Minimum 1 year UK hospital (NHS or private) radiography experience.
• Solid knowledge of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Postgraduate imaging training (e.g., CT/MRI/theatre imaging) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles).
• Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
• Adapt techniques to suit paediatrics, bariatrics, and limited-mobility patients.
• Provide a safe, dignified, patient-centred service and reassure patients.
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond to signs of deterioration.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained and used safely; report faults.
• Assist in implementing new imaging technologies and digital systems (PACS, RIS).
• Collaborate with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams.

Salary: Up to £22.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Meriden Hospital in Coventry is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in theImagingdepartment.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.

Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.

Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility

Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.

Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.

Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.

Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).

Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.

HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 1 year UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.

Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
