Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Radiographer to join the Imaging department at The Beardwood Hospital on a bank basis. The role covers Wednesday and Friday afternoons, with a competitive hourly rate.

You will perform a broad range of radiographic procedures, ensure high-quality images, and support patient-centred care while adapting techniques for various patient needs. Collaborative work with the wider team is essential.

Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Mammography qualification such as PGCert.
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
  • Adapt techniques for paediatrics, bariatrics, or patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and patient-centred service throughout examinations.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond to any deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and faults reported promptly.
  • Assist in implementing new imaging technologies and digital systems (PACS, RIS).
  • Collaborate with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams to coordinate care.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join our team in the Imaging department. This is a bank role covering Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

Duties of this role include:
  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
  • Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
