Job summary

Circle Health Group's Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is seeking a Radiographer to join the Imaging department on a 37.5 hour, permanent basis.

The role involves performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring high-quality images, and delivering a safe, patient-centered service in line with IR(ME)R regulations; you will work within a multidisciplinary team and cover flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level qualification in radiography with HCPC registration.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health and safety, infection control and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referrals and protocols.
• Produce high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimize repeats.
• Provide a safe, patient-centred service, keeping patients informed and reassured.
• Comply with IR(ME)R, local rules and safety protocols for radiation practices.
• Coordinate with radiologists, clinicians and nursing teams to ensure smooth patient pathways.

Salary: Up to £43,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Radiographer to join their team of staff in theImaging department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Comply with IR(ME)R regulations, local rules, and departmental safety protocols to ensure safe radiation practices.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
